We had another great luncheon last month; Heather Morrison, the UALD director did an outstanding job! This month we are privileged to hear from Clyde Robins, VP of HR at Nutraceutical, on "Hot Issues in Compensation and Benefits." Clyde is also an instructor for World at Work and has his CPA, CBP, and CCP certifications.
Be sure to remember our golf tournament in August, held annually at the Wolf Creek Resort in Eden. The golf tournament will be held in lieu of a chapter meeting.
We will not meet in September due to the Crossroads Conference.

Summer seems to be taking it’s time this year. However, May was a “hot” month for the Northern Utah Human Resource Association. SHRM presented NUHRA with the Superior Merit Award for 2007. The annual Merit Award program recognizes chapters for outstanding activities and programs in four broad areas:
- Chapter support to the professional development of members.
- Chapter support of SHRM.
- Chapter support of the profession.
- Professional operation of the chapter.
The annual NUHRA Half-Day conference was a huge success! Those who could not attend, really missed out. Legal and Community updates, Tricky Terminations, and Problem Solving were informative topics for all who attended. Thanks to Shawn Choate and Aimee Ferrin for organizing the event.
The next NUHRA chapter meeting is on June 19th, at 11:30 in the Ogden Marriott. Heather Morrison from the UALD will be speaking to us.

Certification Class
NUHRA members are more that welcome to participate in the PHR Certification Course taught at Weber State by Anne Seal. The course will begin August 28th and will be taught each Thursday from 6 to 8 P.M. for 15 weeks. The class is free to NUHRA members, but the modules are not included (you must buy your own). Class is usually held in room 115 of the Wattis Business Building at Weber State University. Email Anne Seal for more information.
