In the last few weeks, we have been notified by SHRM that we accomplished some pretty great things in 2013:
We were recognized as a SHRM Foundation chapter champion, which means we did an excellent job of fundraising for the SHRM Foundation. This year, we have made it our goal to do our best to educate people on what the SHRM Foundation is as well as some of the benefits they provide to us.
We reached Membership Superstar status! This means that our chapter grew by over 4% in 2013. Way to go! Thanks to our excellent members spreading the word about our great programming, which is usually pre-approved for HRCI credit, we are continuing to grow.
Finally, we received the highest award a chapter can receive, the Platinum Excel Award. Each chapter is required to fulfil certain objectives and each year we choose to go above and beyond to add value to our membership and our community. It is paying off.

Wow! The year is already almost 1/4 of the way over! It is nice to know we can look back and already have some great things to say about 2014.
We just finished our 2nd annual Diversity and Inclusion month, which featured great newsletter articles, conversation via social media, a generation in the workplace table topic at the luncheon, and a luncheon speaker who presented on disabilities in the workplace.
For those who missed February's luncheon, we were able to hear all about disability etiquette, more about accomodating disabilities, and why it's a good idea to do so.
In March, we are scheduled for another UALD update. Last year's was excellent, so this is one month you will not want to miss. Not only is the topic of interest, but this will be a breakfast meeting at Jeremiah's. It will be our only breakfast meeting this year.

February is 'NUHRA's annual Diversity and Inclusion month. You will find excellent articles on the topic in our newsletter and on our Facebook page; we also have an excellent speaker lined up for February's luncheon. We invite you to share articles you've found and liked on the topic on our Facebook page so that others can benefit and join in on the discussion.

ANNUAL HALF DAY CONFERENCE
Our annual half day conference will be held on May 15, 2014 at the Ogden Weber ATC, specifically the Samuel H. and Marian K. Barber Family Health Technologies Building, from 7:45 A.M. to 1:45 P.M.
Members may attend for free. Non-members may attend for only $50.

PHR/SPHR Prep Class Held at DATC
The DATC is offering a Society for Human Resource Management PHR/SPHR Test Prep class starting February 12, 2014 and running through May 7, 2014. Class will be held Wednesday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 pm at the Northfront Business Resource Center at the main DATC campus.
The cost of the course in $950 and includes the SHRM Learning System. Your company may be able to use Custom Fit funding for this course (restrictions apply).
